A chance for United to show they can bounce back after Saturday’s last-minute sucker punch as they travel to Roots Hall, and relegation favourites Southend.
Bonner has a pretty much full strength squad to pick from again, with the surprising return of Mullin, Ironside and Digby last week, and Wes Hoolahan returns to the squad after the birth of his child. All eyes will be on United to see how well they cope with the setback of last week, as well as a Southend team fresh from winning their first game of the season.

Expected U’s Line-Up: Mitov, Knoyle, Taylor, Cundy, Dunk, Hannant, Digby, Boateng, Iredale, Ironside, Mullin
No real changes expected for the U’s, Bonner’s only decision is whether to leave out in-form striker Joe Ironside to get Wessi back into the starting XI, but we suspect he’ll keep him as an impact sub for the second half.
Who’s Their Player To Watch? God knows. Looking at their squad list is like looking at a list of non-league no-hopers. Relegation and massive financial troubles mean anyone even half-decent left long ago. Their number 7 James Olayinka is on loan from Arsenal so must be marginally less shit than any of the others.
Who’s In The Dugout? Mark Moseley. Took over at Southend in the summer having previously managed Weymouth. Previously played for Cambridge City, Stevenage, Bournemouth and Plymouth amongst others.
What’s their recent form like? P5, W1, D0, L4, F2, A9
Any Ex-United Players? Harry Lennon. Played three times for us in 2014 whilst on loan from Charlton. What’s that? You’d forgotten about him too?
Last Time Out: Southend 3-1 Cambridge (Checkatrade Trophy) 4 September 2018
Our last visit to Roots Hall was in the EFL Trophy with Reggie Lambe putting the U’s ahead before hitting the self-destruct button. One to forget.
From The Archive: Southend 1-1 Cambridge 22 December 1991
Decent footage of us beating Southend is pretty thin on YouTube, but we managed to find this game, a 1-1 draw at Roots Hall. Lee Philpott in that lovely Fujitsu kit. You love to see it.
UTAS Moosenet Tip: 3-1 United, Mullin
