Harrogate (H) Match Preview

It’s a first ever meeting between the two sides at the Abbey on Saturday. There’s a new signing in the squad and United are unbeaten in 2021. Let’s have a look at the game…

After beating Grimsby 2-1 on the 2nd, United sit in fifth place in the table, three points outside the automatic promotion spots, and just five from the top of the table, all this despite a fairly atrocious run of form during November and December.

The squad has a clean bill of health, with Liam O’Neil back in training, although still some way from being match fit. We also welcome Jubril Okedina to the Abbey, signing on loan from Spurs. We don’t expect Bonner to deviate too much from his favoured 4-4-2, sticking more or less to the side that beat Grimsby.

Expected U’s Line-Up: Mitov, Knoyle, Darling, Taylor, Dunk, Hannant, Digby, May, Iredale, Ironside, Mullin

We expect Ironside to regain his place in the 11 over Knibbs, and the only real question is -as always- how do we fit Hoolahan into this side whilst allowing him to play to his strengths?

Who’s Their Player To Watch? Keep an eye out as always on Jon Stead, he’s been around forever but still knows where the net is.

Who’s In The Dugout? Simon Weaver. Been at Harrogate since 2009. In that time we’ve had eight managers.

What’s Their Recent Form Like? P5, W2, D0, L3, F4, A5

Any Ex-United Players: Nope, but local lad Connor Hall was due to sign for us back in 2012 before an injury put paid to that. He subsequently went to St Neots, Bury Town and Biggleswade before heading to Harrogate, where he scored in the play-off final last season. They’ve also got a player called Tom Walker, but rest assured it’s not UTAS’ very own #1 Paul Mullin fan, but someone else entirely.

Last Time Out: We’ve never played Harrogate before, so instead have some footage of us beating P*sh

From The Archives: And some more…

UTAS Moosenet Tip: 3-0 United, Mullin (because it’s not gonna be anyone else, is it?)
