We round up the U’s transfer business this window as United bring in defenders Aji Alese and Declan Drysdale.

Alese comes from West Ham, via Accrington Stanley where he made fifteen League One appearances this season on loan. A pacey, left-sided defender Alese is highly regarded at West Ham, for whom he made his debut in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.
Our second signing is Declan Drysdale, who joins from Coventry City. He’s also spent time on loan away from his parent club this season, having made 17 appearances for Gillingham (including one against the U’s in the EFL Trophy). A strong centre-back, he brings a bit of experience to the backline after the departure of Harry Darling.
That concludes the clubs business this window, and whilst Harry Darling, Robbie Cundy, Idris El Mizouni and Andrew Dallas have all left the Abbey, the club have bought in replacements in the form of Hiram Boateng, Jubril Okedina, Shilow Tracey as well as Alese & Drysdale, so we’re not looking as light as we did earlier in the week. Tracey and Okedina both had impressive debuts against Crawley on Saturday, and we all know how good Boateng is from his spell here earlier in the season.
Most importantly, we’ve kept hold of Paul Mullin and Kyle Knoyle, two players who’ve been an integral part of our success this season.
