Transfer news from the Abbey today sees former loanee Shilow Tracey making his move to the Abbey permanent. A pacey winger, Tracey mostly featured from the bench last season but excited and offered a pacey dimension when he did come on. A product of Spurs youth set up, he already has League One experience following a short spell at Shrewsbury before joining us. Tracey scored in the 4-2 away win at Leyton Orient that all but assured promotion for the U’s.

Sadly we say goodbye to Kyle Knoyle who leaves for Doncaster. Ever-present for the U’s last season, Knoyle was a joy to watch with his attacking runs from the right-back position and weighed in with two goals for us last season. He joined from Swindon Town, and it’s his old manager Richie Wellens who has tempted him up to Doncaster despite rumours of a falling out. Many U’s fans expected Knoyle to step up to the Championship so it comes as a surprise to see him remaining in League One. Kyle leaves as a true lockdown legend and we wish him all the best.
