After the controversy surrounding the new home shirt last week United’s new away kit was always going to attract a lot of attention, but it looks like the club have knocked it out the park with this one. A smart black design with thin amber diagonal stripes and amber chevrons on the sleeves, plus most importantly, a proper collar.
We’ve had a few black away shirts over the years, from Puma’s weird diamond template that every club seemed to use that season to the plain black and luminous yellow effort a couple of years later and the underrated ‘bridge’ away shirt in their final season they’d always been a bit hit or miss, but we think this one is firmly in the hit category.
We can’t wait to see this shirt gracing the pitch at Portman Road, The Stadium of Light and Hillsborough to name a few.
