UTAS are delighted to announce we’re officially partnering with SHOUT, the UK’s only 24/7 mental health text support service. To celebrate, on Time To Talk Day 2022, we’re releasing this special mental health episode.

We’ve spent the last few weeks talking to Cambridge United players, legends, fans and more about mental health, how it’s changed in football over time, and what we can still do to continue breaking down stigma at all levels of the game.
Ex-players Dion Dublin and Luke Chadwick told us what it’s like when you finish playing and how you deal with it, while current boss Mark Bonner talked about the importance of this club to the mental health of the whole community. From director Godric Smith on the community trust’s focus on mental awareness, to Liam O’Neil on how the squad dealt with lockdown, with personal accounts of opening up from groundsman Ian Darler and fan Connor O’Reilly included, this episode deals with all aspects of mental health from every part of the football club.
Not being alright is alright. And talking about things is okay.
Mark Bonner
